Final Fantasy VII Remake

Fan Group Remakes Final Fantasy VII On Unreal Engine. Fan group Studio Paint released a video last week to show off its upcoming reimagination of popular role-playing game Final Fantasy VII, which it is developing on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine.

Being the FFVII fan boy that I am (much like the rest of you…ahem), I very often Google ‘FFVII remake’ in various different ways to make sure I consume every bit of information, regardless of source so I am fully aware of it’s possibility (or impossibility?). I recently came across what seems like a bogus post about a FFVII HD remake for the Sony NGO (or Sony PSP 2) – Links to some of the posts concerning this will be at the end of this post – I was temporarily in shock as whomever wrote it was very convincing. After re-reading the post and cross-checking the information I had just read, it was evidently clear that there was no real solid information or mention from any notable sources (e.g. kotaku or SE themselves) and sat back in a momentary rage…

The audacity of releasing bogus information like that could get you in ATB battle with some very pissed-off FFVII fan boys and fan girls, packed with Buster Sword and shiny marbles that have been dressed to look like Master Materia glued to various parts of their bodies. Hmm…

Well despite this all, I’m very much interested in knowing how you would feel about a HD remake (I’m guessing it would be like the Ocarina of Time 3DS remake. Have you seen the updates?); in my own experience with HD remakes, I don’t believe it would be that much better than what we’re experiencing with our PC versions of FFVII modded to sh*t. You should all check out the Zelda OOT HD remake and compare previous vs current and you will see that FFVII would likely get the same kind of treatment.

I know some of you may disagree with me, but I would personally want an all-out brand spanking new PS3 (or PS4?) version of the game. I love the game as it currently is, but I would love to play it through with the technological advancements of today. I enjoyed every bit of ACC:Complete, I enjoyed the cutscenes from Crisis Core and so on.

That’s my two cents.
